This is little workbook to learn and practice subitizing. I've included some number tracing pages. The pages are meant to be printed front to back. Click on each page to open full size then download or print the page. Set your margins at zero for best results.

Tally Mark Counting

When teaching subitizing you really should introduce the items or flash cards two ways, once with the number as a digit and the other with the number spelled out. This helps them recognize numbers in multiple forms. After they practiced their numbers, groupings, dot patterns, etc. then you introduce them without the number at all so they can begin to recognize the quantity without counting. 

We teach zero. I know not everyone teaches zero, but we do. If you don't you can remove that card. We also scramble the cards so it isn't the same number on both sides of the cards. We do that so we can shuffle the cards and randomly grab a card. We show one side and then the other side and it will be a different number each time. If you'd like them to line up or would like to change things up they are editable in canva.

There are other subitizing activities randomly throughout the blog, dice, dominoes, finger counting, etc. Check back later as there will likely be more activities as we advance in our math skills. 

I print the cards double sided, laminate and cut them out. If you set your margins at zero then they should line up for double sided printing. Tap or click on the images to open it full size and then download or print it. 

Winter Book and activity printables (downloads at end of post)

I created these books to go especially with these cute, little stuffies from walmart, but any reindeer,  snowman or unicorn would go great with the story. 

There are 2 pages to personalize, the first with your child's name and then the page with the pets name. Choose a story(unicorn, reindeer, or snowman) and then choose the character that fits closest with your child. Print the pages and insert the pages into a clear photo album or binder in the manner available to you. 

     You can use canva to personalize the book. The font is used is chewy and available for free in canva or available to download for other programs on many free font sites. 

    I've bound the samples I printed, but the album is my preferred method. You can insert the pages and activities and then you have extra spaces for pictures of your child/children doing the activities and playing with their new friend. It is an instant keepsake. 

     If you prefer you can use kdp to print and bind actual books for you. The author copy version if about $4 to $5, plus shipping. 

The page size is 5x7, but if you add an inch to your margins in the print settings the pages will print 4x6. 

The lesson is that we can't just expect someone to want to play with us or like the things we like. We can't force thwm to be our friend. We need to ask them what they like, what they want to play and if they'd like to be our friend.

Just a warning:

You can not list these for sale though. There is an nft tag on the images through google because I created the characters and used gemini to edits them into each different shot. If you try to sell them there is a good chance google will come after you. Copyright is a huge issue and a lot of companies are really cracking down these days. Funnily enough, they are using ai to help them stop ai fraud and copyright.
